Selected to represent Australia
Tarkyn Bishop and Edward Ferguson are local 10 year old Macedon kids. They are also national and soon to be international champions.
They have both been selected to play Futsal for Australia in Hawaii in November 2017.
It is a stunning achievement for Tarkyn and Ed and a testament to the growth of thriving community sport in the Macedon Ranges.
To cope with that growth, futsal, basketball, netball, volleyball and badminton clubs are calling for a new indoor stadium at www.macedonarangesregionalsportshub.org
Tarkyn and Ed were two of many young Macedon Ranges selected to compete at the Australian Futsal Championships earlier this year.
Five out of 8 of the players in the Victorian Under 10 side at the nationals were players from the Macedon Ranges – a phenomenal effort for our region.
They made such an impression that Ed was named the best under 10 goalkeeper in Australia and both Ed and Tarkyn have since been invited to represent Australia.
