Tourism & regional development

The Macedon Ranges Regional Sports Hub is needed to meet local regional sports participation demand. We need to think strategically as a region though to also deliver lasting flow-on benefits to the regional economy.

Every month thousands of players, families and spectators converge on a regional facility for a major tournament.

The Under 14 Basketball Victoria Country Championships in Shepparton delivered over $2M into their local economy in just one weekend

Weekend tournaments bring thousands of people to restaurants, cafes, accommodation, shops, petrol stations and galleries.

A regional facility of scale and quality will enable us to host regional, state and even national tournaments in basketball, volleyball, netball, futsal, table tennis and squash. Six multi-use courts and six convertible squashcourts make this possible. We are actively discussing annual event calendars with peak sports bodies.
